How will joining an IFC Fraternity affect me academically?
Academic excellence is an important part of the Greek community. One of the central purposes of fraternities is to be the best in academics. The All IFC Male GPA Average is above the University's All Male GPA Average. Most organizations require a minimum set standard to join and maintain active standing within the organization.
How involved are our Fraternity men?
IFC Fraternities give members the opportunity to enhance and develop their leadership skills. Members of our IFC community hold executive positions in USGA (Student Government), SAFAC, Orientation, Campus Activities Board, Sport Clubs, Alumni Associations, ROTC (Army, Air Force, Navy), professional organizations and many more .
Do IFC Fraternity Members participate in community service?
Each year our men participate in tens of thousands of hours of service to the community. Members donate their time to projects such as: Habitat for Humanity, JRA, Adopt-A-Highway, CHOP, Philly Red Goes Green, The American Red Cross, St. Baldricks, The Boys and Girls Club, and the Special Olympics. Greeks also sponsor fundraising activities for charitable organizations. Each fraternity chapter has its own national philanthropy, which it supports on an ongoing basis.
Does being a member of an IFC Fraternity have benefits after graduation?
Graduation from a fraternity brings a lot of perks, especially during this tough economic time and struggling job market. Being in a fraternity is the edge that will set you apart. What you know is something you will have worked for, for the past 4 or 5 years. Who you know is something that being in a fraternity will help you with. When someone joins a fraternity, they begin building relationships with the families and friends of those chapter members. Members are also introduced to alumni of their chapters all over the country. By joining a Greek letter organization, you can create an entire network of people, from which could possibly come a future employer, spouse, or lifelong friend.

Joining a fraternity does carry a financial commitment. Each chapter is self-supporting through dues paid by members. When students join a Greek letter organization, they also agree to pay dues and to maintain membership. All of our chapters have some sort of payment plan to help its members, but because of the financial aspect of joining a fraternity, prospective members should make a plan and talk to their families..
